Dear Fellow Officials,
The 2008 volleyball season is here! And we are off to great start!
The Dallas Volleyball Officials Chapter was well represented at the July 19th TASO State Volleyball Meeting which was held in Austin. Former Dallas Chapter President, George Cobb, was posthumously inducted by TASO to the Volleyball Honor Roll this year. It was a most deserved honor for a man who helped found and sustain the Dallas Volleyball Officials Chapter for many years.
If you did not attend the State Meeting, make plans to attend one of the District Clinics being held around the State. You are required to attend one or the other. Our local clinic will be held at Cedar Hill High School on Aug 2nd. Other clinic times and locations are listed under Important Dates under the Information tab above.
There are opportunities to be evaluated this season at designated area tournaments. Please notify Don Melton via email whether you desire either to be evaluated, or not. Officials seeking to improve their skills will be priority scheduled into tournaments designated as evaluation tournaments.
Remember, for those applying for DVC membership for the 1st time, a special “Welcome to Dallas” fee structure is available - your 1st year dues are only $75. For returning members, chapter dues for next season are now $150, plus a $25 late fee.
